Las Vegas Monster Jam Finals March 21-22nd

Las Vegas Monster Jam Finals
March 21st - 22nd

Believe it or not this was my first time attending a Monster Truck event. I have been to more then my share of Car Shows that have famous Monster Trucks in them. But as far as an event showing what they can do? This was my very first!! I'd like to admit the moment I took my seat I was glued to the scene. It was so magical, infectious. It really was more then what I ever expected. I attended with my husband (a fan of any type of competition involving a vehicle) our 10 year old daughter and our 15 year old son. This is truely an event for all ages. The feeling in the air was so exciting!

As the cars came out I instantly picked my favorite. The "Avenger" it was a model of one of my favorite classic cars, a 56' 57' Chevy. Just beautiful. And it also gave it a bonus point for the color. My favorite, purple.
The Avenger in action

This event was so magical. The fireworks, the music, the trucks. All were superb!! My family had a great time. I HIGHLY recommend checking a Monster Jam event out. One bit of advice, bring some ear plugs if you have a sensitive kid or adult for that matter. I loved it!

One of the drivers in the "hot seat".

Seeing the drivers so close and being able to have them see your influence on their attitudes is really heart warming. They have such a love for their fans. Boy, do they show it!

Just a very small portion of the fireworks you can see.

It was truely a massive form of "American" Culture. These drivers have been to over 50 countries. I cannot even imagine how they got these massive trucks over deep ocean waters.

My Daughters favorite- Scooby Doo

If you have a son that loves Super Heros then this is an added event you may see great trucks of Spiderman, Batman, Captian America, and Iron Man and that is just to name a few. Seeing kids in the costumes in addition to their favorite truck, it was so cute!

The winner of the Freestyle Monster Jam. "Metal Mulisha", this is the jump the driver did right out of the gate! One of only a few high jumps of the night!

I would like to thank all that made this event special.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY GUYS & DOLLS

    Happy St. Paddy's Day
Thanks to Pinterest and Amy Locurto over at http://www.livinglocurto.com/ this weekend Sunni Bunny and I decided to make these cards to hand out to her BFF's at school. Although her school has a strict "no pinching" policy we still thought it would be cute to make some green loom bracelets for St. Paddy's Day.

**The card says, "Happy St. Patrick's Day, Lucky You, I made you this to avoid a pinch**

Sorry about the blurry picture above. I was in a hurry getting Sunni ready for school and I wanted to get a picture of at least one of her cards since I am sure they will all be gone by this afternoon!

Below is the image that caught our eye on Pinterest. We printed the card on cardstock weight paper and I helped Sunni make two small slits on each side to display the loom bracelet. Sunni put the opened bracelet thru the slits then used an "S" clamp to attach on the inside of the card.

Here are a few St. Paddy's Day fun facts to share with your friends today
    Special thanks to National Geographic-nationalgeographic.com

    No Snakes in Ireland?

A very popular St. Patrick myth is the claim that he banished snakes from Ireland. It's true no snakes exist on the island today, Luther College's Freeman said—but they never did. Ireland, after all, is surrounded by icy waters—much too cold to allow snakes to migrate from Britain or anywhere else.
Since snakes often represent evil in literature, "when Patrick drives the snakes out of Ireland, it is symbolically saying he drove the old, evil, pagan ways out of Ireland [and] brought in a new age," Freeman said. The snake myth, the shamrock story, and other tales were likely spread by well-meaning monks centuries after St. Patrick's death, Freeman said.

St. Patrick's Day: Made in America?

Until the 1970s, St. Patrick's Day in Ireland was a minor religious holiday. A priest would acknowledge the feast day, and families would celebrate with a big meal, but that was about it.
"St. Patrick's Day was basically invented in America by Irish-Americans," Freeman said.
Timothy Meagher, an expert in Irish-American history at Washington, D.C.'s Catholic University, said in 2009 Irish charitable organizations originally celebrated St. Patrick's Day with banquets in places such as Boston, Savannah, and Charleston, South Carolina. Eighteenth-century Irish soldiers fighting with the British in the U.S. Revolutionary War held the first St. Patrick's Day parades. Some soldiers, for example, marched through New York City in 1762 to reconnect with their Irish roots.
Other parades followed in the years and decades after, including well-known celebrations in Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago, primarily in flourishing Irish immigrant communities.
"It becomes a way to honor the saint but also to confirm ethnic identity and to create bonds of solidarity," said Meagher.

Dyeing the River Green for St. Patrick's Day

Sometime in the 19th century, as St. Patrick's Day parades were flourishing, wearing the color green became a show of commitment to Ireland, Meagher said. In 1962 the show of solidarity took a spectacular turn in Chicago when the city decided to dye a portion of the Chicago River green.
The tradition started when parade organizer Steve Bailey, head of a plumbers union, noticed how a dye used to trace possible sources of river pollution had stained a colleague's overalls a brilliant green, according to greenchicagoriver.com. Bailey thought, Why not use the dye to turn the whole river green on St. Patrick's Day? So began the tradition. The environmental impact of the dye is minimal compared with pollution from sewage-treatment plants, Margaret Frisbie, the executive director of the advocacy group Friends of the Chicago River, said in 2010. Rather than advising against the dye, her group focuses on turning the Chicago River into a welcoming habitat full of fish, herons, turtles, and beavers. If the river becomes a wildlife haven, the thinking goes, Chicagoans won't want to dye their river green. "Our hope is that, as the river continues to improve, ultimately people can get excited about celebrating St. Patrick's Day different ways," she said.

Stainless steel and Gridded Nylon Cocktail Muddler Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day! To be honest I am not a bartender nor do I consider myself the go to on adult beverages. I'm working on it. So I have to tell you that I am slowly building up my wet bar. Can I be honest? This Muddler is a MUST have. I would say 60% of my guests ask for something fruity. And squeezing fruit by hand is tedious. Right? Another confession. I first hear about a Muddler watching "Vanderpump Rules" most fancy cocktails require a fresh herb or fruit. A Muddler is your go to tool. This should be in every wet bar, whether just for parties or to add to your man cave bar.

Mint julip use the Muddler, froo-froo cocktail, use this Muddler. Get my drift? Wow your guests with the best herb and fruit infused cocktails. The Muddler extracts every bit of flavor from herb leaves, citrus fruits and dried spices easily and quickly, for a difference you can really taste! As you can see the rows of "teeth" can really get in there and extract every bit of flavor. The nylon head will not scratch your precious glass and as a bonus that makes this Muddler durable and worth it's weight in gold! Unlike some wood muddlers, this one will not stain and carry flavors from one drink to another. The Epica Muddler is the way to go! It's comfortable to hold, you do not need man power to use it and it is dishwasher safe! Mojito, Mint Tulip anyone?

Who doesn't love seeing this on their doorstep?

I love getting to try out new products. Without influence. Without bias. It's a great way for me to share my product experiences with you, my faithful readers! If you have any questions on any of these products please feel free to contact me at Dvldoll@gmail.com and I will be happy to go into more detail on any product listed here. I also advise you to check out each products social links for great deals, coupons or specials going on right now or in the future. As an added bonus I would love it if you followed the product you have tried and tell the company how much you love them or what they can do to improve. It never hurts and each product I have had the pleasure of trying has always welcomed feedback. Even the products I haven't enjoyed. Each company that I review for as a must, is up for my responses either good or bad. Otherwise it wouldn't be a true and honest review, right?

Here are all the goodies I received to test and review for the J'adore box. Everything planned for a wonderful "Oh La La" experience.

    Included in my VlogBox:

    Hershey's Milk Chocolate Kisses

    Vaseline- Mens Spray Lotion

    Red Rose Simply Indulgent Teas

Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask

John Frieda Frizz Ease- 3 Day Straight

Kiss Nails- Looks so Natural Lashes

Whenever I see this box I get so excited. Here's why. I feel like my VlogBox is always made with my personality in mind. I love this box especially because there is not one item in here that will not go to tramendously good use in my home. (I see you eyeballing those Hershey's Kisses). When I opened it you could picture me doing the silly seal clap and squeak noises coming out of my ear to ear grin.

We will start the day off right with the yummy Hershey's Kisses. If you have never had the pleasure of trying one of these chocolate delights I implore you to just try a bite. You will not be able to stop at just one. Now think of this. Women love chocolate, it's a proven fact...isn't it? Well it is in my household! We will leave it at that. So imagine trying one of these while you indulge yourself in these other products!

Next we have Vaseline Men's Spray Lotion. This was not an item I personally used but, my son and husband have been fighting over it since I casually set it on the bathroom counter for a test to see who would used it. Our son already uses Vaselines Men's regular lotion so I figured he wouldn't know the difference. I was wrong. First day back to school after the Holiday my son decided to wake me up with a "Mom, where did you get this?" He wanted to buy out the stock right away.. Haha. Needless to say he loves it. Upon further questioning he also loves the fact that as a 16 year old and always being in a hurry he can spray quickly in the dry areas and be on with his rush. He also admitted on the down low that the scent is a lot better then my froo-froo scented cherry blasted lotion.

You say tea, I say Red Rose. Leave it to Red Rose to come up with the most indulgent tea on the planet! So delectable, creamy for a tea. Try staying home and trying this while you indulge in a kiss? Sure why not? And as your siping this delightful tea just try to feel an ounce of pity for those people waiting in 20-30 minute drive thrus or dealing with those high and mighty "baristas".

Boots Botantics was so fun to try. Growing up I always had my Mom buy me any experimental face cleanser. I loved being able to use a piece of that again. Boots Botanicals really knows how to make clean and precise products. Rain or shine their products come in very helpful to my skin care needs. This product is a shining star in the galaxy of beauty products. I cannot say anything better to prove how much I am in love with their clay mask!

I personally do not have "frizzy" but about 6 Months ago I figured my daughters thin hair might fair better if I gave her a "Summer" perm. Now I know what your thinking. Yes, I was a child and teen of the 80's/90's and yes 12 years out of 18 years I did hone a mom/grandma forced home perm. But, Sunni Bunny really did wear it well at first. At first being the key word. Now that 60% of the perm has fallen flat. What we have left brings home the whole new meaning of the description "rats nest". So you can imagine my excitement when I was able to sample John Frieda's Frizz Ease spray for flat ironing. The awesome thing? It actually does what it says and last for 3-days. That is without hairspray. Now that my daughter has thicker hair and is about to enter junior high, all I have to do is have her wash her hair, once it's dried I flat iron it with little spray then TA-DA she's good for 3-days of straight hair. And the steam from her daily showers or baths do not affect it. Truly no fuss hair. And I don't have to see my perm mistake and her "rat nest"
    Get social with John Frieda:
I am an avid addict of "false" eyelashes. I have a few. And I actually love wearing them. My eyes are big so wearing lashes makes them pop! I figured this out when I turned 26. We went to a Rockabilly Car show and I decided to go "full throttle" 50's. False eyelashes are a big part of the Marilyn area. I put my hair in victory rolls, and doned my eyes in falsies and I have ever since. Ten years whoa, has it been that long? Sheeesh. Who knew Kiss Nails also made lashes? Well they make all of the above! Super great product. Check it out in your local CVS, Walgreens, Wal-mart, really any drugstore where Kiss items are sold!
