After a few weeks of Vacation I am back! I wanted to take a minor break from my blog to read this great book and give it all my attention.

HOW TO RAISE A HAPPY CHILD (and be happy too)
BY: Heather Criswell and Taryn Voget

Although 3 out of my 4 children are pretty up there in age (15,14 10 and 3) I still believe in personal growth. Plus anytime I have an opportunity to learn something new, I cannot escape or pass it up.

This books gives you the confidence to be the parent you are seeking to be. Parents, Grandparents, always told me that when my first son was born it's all supposed to be trial and error. There is no manual to being a parent. After reading this book I have to disagree. I think this is a perfect place to start. A guideline to how to raise a happy child is exactly the outcome I want with my kids.

Inside How To Raise A Happy Child
you will have parenting success with:
Bedtime*Sharing*Mealtime*Back-Talking*Disrespect*Fighting*Grades*Lying*Swearing*Public Temper Tantrums*

Scenario's of possible situations and options of solutions to those scenario's. And I kid you not, I have had about 90% of these possible scenarios from each one of my kids in the past 15 years of raising them. I vowed this year that priority would be give to grades, attitudes, language. I have succeeded (or so my opinion is) in the areas of the kids being polite, thankful, generous, and I pride myself on showing my kids how to be responsible for themselves. Making their own lunch (minus my 3 year old of course) and cleaning up their messes. Cleaning their laundry and being responsible for all school work. You cannot be a prefect parent. And where I lack as a Mother my Husband picks up the slack and enforces. And where we both lack we both try to learn from our mistakes and solve any problems as they arise.

Parenting is hard. I would never say it has been easy. Even before I had kids, I baby and toddler sitter. As a preteen and teenager  I was a sitter for family, friends of family and neighbors weekly. My weekends were never spent partying. I was a sitter. It's what I loved doing. I would rather spend the night taking care of toddlers and babies than going to a house party or a slumber party. It's just who I am. I have a very bad habit of putting others before myself.

I am holding onto this book. It will be my kid bible. My manual for situations and outcomes I want to have answers.
