SMARTYPANTS Tavern Puzzle Review

p style="text-align: center;"> SMARTYPANTS Tavern Puzzle

Product Description

Smartypants is a moderately difficult design in the Tavern Puzzle Collection.

Tavern Puzzles® are reproductions of a type of puzzle traditionally forged by blacksmiths to amuse their friends at country taverns and inns. Keeping with tradition, a museum-trained blacksmith from Long Island has reproduced some of these antique designs as well as his own original designs. All the puzzles are beautifully handcrafted from steel. Each puzzle is mechanical in nature; removal of the object piece does not rely on force or trickery.

100% Handcrafted in the USA.

"These challenging puzzles strengthen the ability to find a solution to a deceptively simple quandary. Requires proper integration of planning and visualization."

Tavern Puzzles are suitable for ages 13 to 113.

When I was younger in grade school we had a librarian who was really into impossible puzzles. Well impossible for us kids at that age. Outside of school he was a pro kite flyer (not kidding) and a Theatre instructor. So, everyday while reading in the library we would have "tavern" puzzles in the middle of each table. As soon as you were done reading a few chapters you were permitted to try and "solve" the puzzle. If you solved the puzzle not only would you get a free book but everyone at your table would as well. As soon as a group finished the puzzle our librarian would replace it with a different one. In 6th grade at the end of the school year the kids who completed a puzzle was able to pick one that had been used to take home.

That is why this SMARTYPANTS Tavern Puzzle was so awesome to me. It brought back memories that I thought were lost forever and it also is a gift to see my kids enjoying and trying to solve these super fun puzzles. They really are hard to find!
