Review- eNVy Foundation Beauty Awards #BeautyFightsCancer #ENVYFoundation

 Las Vegas eNVy Foundation
2014 Beauty Awards

My look for the night. Retro-Dress thanks to ModCloth
Makeup and Hair by Moi'

I was so excited to attend this event. A first for people like me who are not in the Cosmetology industry. The nights events started at Stoney's at Town Square. I arrived promptly at 5:00 pm. I was all a flush at the dressed up gals. The hair, the clothes, the shoes oh my. This was going to be an awesome event just by the looks of the guests invited. Least we not forget about the men. You all looked dapper as well. But this was a girls night!

As I stepped in the front entrance with my Press/Media badge around my neck my eyes started gathering all kinds of wondrous sights. Two women painted from head to toe greeted guests with a smile and photo opportunities. I was in such a hurry to see more I did not get a chance photo with these beauties. These two painted gals were there due to the talents of Skin City Body Painting.

I started to make my rounds and check everything out. They had some wonderful items for a silent auction, raffle tickets for some great prizes and a huge stage set up in the middle with seating for guests!

The stage view from the back. Very impressive.

The intensity started to get palpable as it was getting closer to Showtime. The crowds rustle started to get higher and higher as the first act of the night stepped on stage. The juggling and comedic act of Andy Martello! He was a hoot. The crowd was a little slow to warm up but to Andy's defense it was only 6:00 pm and people were just starting their night!

Next up was Host of the night and Comedian Angie Krum. Angie was funny and every woman could relate to her comedic situations told on stage. As a host she rolled with the punches and for the first event in eNVy Foundation history with the few small hiccups Angie Krum really held her own. By the end of the night she was really loved by all. After holding a few raffle announcements and bringing up the true stars who put this event on the map (the eNVy Foundation men). She announced the first competition of the night.

On with the first competition of the night!!  This is where things were going to start to get WILD! The Pin-up competition was so outrageous! These gals were ready to walk the runway! They were all so fabulous it was hard to just pick one!!!
Here is a small sample of the Pin-Up Competition.

Talent and sassy class was abundant

Next up was one of the most talented local Vegas Comedians I have ever known. And I am not just saying that because we went to school together. I truly think he has a talent that will bring him far. Comedian Brandon "Gooch" Hahn. He was hilarious. If you ever want to hear the truth and thoughts behind Vegas locals check him out at a comedy club near you. Go to his podcast RISE TO OFFEND. You can even catch him on the radio KOMP 92.3 on Weekdays in the afternoon.

Burlesque Diva Show was coming right up! These divas know how to take the stage! Two wonderful acts with two very talented divas! Next, came the Avant-garde competition and this comp was close. All the ladies were so over the top and crafted and created to mystical fairies and nymphs. Garden spectacular splendid magic. It was all out of this world creative. You could tell in the models faces that they were having as much fun as the audience was. It was such a wonderful sight of imagination and wonderment. These competitors were not playing.  Hard work and talent shined brightly.

All the models on stage-Pin-up and Avant-garde

I was able to get some footage of the winners and all of the people on stage who took the time and challenge to make the night a great success!

The winners and runners up of the night are:

Josephine Skaught winner of Pin-up
Runner up D'hair To Be Different.

JM Hair Gallery winner of Avant-garde
 Runner up Serenity Salon.

I was also able to get a great picture up close of the Avant-garde winner JM Hair Gallery. And boy was this a wonderful decision. The hair and outfit was impeccable and if you thought that was it this model was on stilts! She spent the rest of the night on them! pure dedication!

The after-party was about to begin. The stage was quickly whisked away and the dance floor cleaned. It was time for food, fun, music, dancing and an opportunity to meet these special hair artists behind the scenes!

A few models getting ready to shake a tail feather!

As we headed later into the night about 10:00 pm the dancing started to progress, the food was settling and it was time for some more raffle fun! I was chosen to pick the winning raffle ticket for $400.00 worth of hair products along with two other prizes!

Some guests getting down to some house tunes!

Winding down as we come to a wonderful nights finish I truly had a blast. It was such a great experience and from talking to the crowd everyone is excited to start this tradition and continue this every year.

The talent that this city has, is extraordinary! The support of our community, coming to an event that no one had ever seen or heard of, let's us know that we're on to something. This wasn't about us, This was about our community coming together, creating a platform showcasing some of Vegas' top talent, in support of Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation! The talent that we displayed, I'm honored to work with such amazing salon professionals, and the hard work and dedication, took me by storm! Wait till you see these pictures, how we were even capable of crowning winners, I'm speechless because everyone brought there best. You all are winners in my eyes! I'm truly blessed to be surrounded by such humble talent, that makes this world a beautiful place. Thank everyone for your support.

I would like to take this time to give my thanks to the eNVy Foundation, Nevada Childhood Cancer and a special thank you to Kerry Hancock Jr. at MPR Partners for inviting me to write about this wonderful event. I was truly blown away by the love in the room and the talent on the stage.
